Emperor goose Old willows on the bank of the Small pond of Old territory are very dense. On this small pond one can see not aggressive species of geese, which on a Major pond would have suffered from large and aggressive swans. Emperor goose (ANSER CANAGICUS) (ANATIDAE) is very rare. It inhabits western and east coasts of the Bering sea and nests in seaside tundra near fresh and weakly salt lakes and lagoons. Nests are usually situated on dry sites, frequently not far from water or on islands. The clutch size is 2-9 eggs and hatching lasts for 24-25 days. Cackling canadian geese
In the wild the population of this species does not exceed 12-15 thousands of individuals, and the species is included in the Red Book of Russia.

In the zoo the group of 10 emperor geese live on a Small pond all year round and they regularly breed. Cackling canadian geese (BRANTA CANADENSIS MINIMA) (ANATIDAE) also live on a small pond and are regularly bred.
