This enclosure imitates savannah territories, where various African ungulate are grazing. We see here a small herd of grevy's zebra (EQUUS GREVYI) (EQUIDAE). This species is very rare because it has disappeared from most of its original range. Sable antelope (HIPPOTRAGUS NIGER NIGER) (BOVIDAE) and recently arrived in Moscow from SAR reticulated giraffes (GIRAFFA CAMELOPARDALIS RETICULATA) (GIRAFFIDAE) are also exhibited here. In the wild African ungulates are capable to increase in the number on restricted spaces only because each species occupies its own food niche. Giraffes, due to the body height, eat upper leaves from trees, antelopes will utilise a high grass and bushes, and zebras' diet consist of short cereals.
