Opposite to "Exotarium" in large, recently constructed enclosures a pere david's deer (ELAPHURUS DAVIDIANUS) (CERVIDAE) and przewalski's wild horse(EQUUS PRZEWALSKII) (EQUIDAE) are maintaining. These species have disappeared in the wild and have remained only in zoo collections. Due to the balanced programs of breeding the zoos were able to support artificial populations of these species.

The Moscow zoo participates also in this operation. The pere david's deer and the przewalski's wild horse are well bred in our zoo. The offspring of the przewalski's wild horse were transferred from the Moscow zoo to the European and American zoos.
