Piranhas (SERRASALMIDAE) are found in South America and are well known due to their voracity and blood-thirstiness. However, only some species of big piranha (Serrasalmus piraya) are dangerous for the man. In the wild piranhas form large schools (up to several thousand fishes) and can attack an injured or weakened animal of any size.
