Seahorses (Hippocampus sp.) (SYNGNATHIDAE) – probably are the most amusing and peaceful inhabitants of a reef. They have unusual body shape and the head similar to those of real horse. Seahorses swim in a vertical position. These fishes are able to change the colour depending on colour of background. Female lay eggs into a special male's bag to protect the offspring from carnivores. When the larvae are ready to hatch, the male curves and squeezes them out from the bag.
