There are approximately about 8600 species of birds in the world. In the course of evolution they have adapted to live under various conditions, so it is not easy to provide them with appropriate conditions in captivity. The collection of birds in the Moscow zoo is very large and splendid. In the beginning of 70s the project of a modern pavilion convenient both for its inhabitants and the visitors has been developed. It was planned to allow observing birds in natural for them conditions. Only several years ago with the assistance of the Moscow government and due to the joint efforts of the company "Mospromstroy" (one of most powerful Moscow building organisations) and group of building and design corporate companies "Atoll" and "Stroylandshaft" it became possible to realise the project.
The pavilion "The World of birds " enables the visitors to see various natural landscapes, recreated by the builders, and to enjoy the beauty and variety of birds.
A number of birds such as storks, cranes, ostriches, cassowary, some parrots and pheasants in a warm season are disposed in spacious enclosures, quite near to the pavilion. We are sure, that you'll get a lot of pleasure from visiting this exposition.
