Opposite the enclosure with dholes one can see maned wolves (CHRYSOCYON BRACHYURUS) (CANIDAE). They look like a fox with lengthy legs. Maned wolves inhabit grasslands of South America where they prey on different rodents. Their diet includes also birds' nestlings. The natural habitats of this species have been completely destroyed or significantly reduced in area due to human activity. For this reason it is listed in the IUCN Red List. In the zoo the wolves live in pairs, each pair occupying separate sector of the enclosure.
